For Once I Agree With Glenn Beck. I Still Can't Stand Him Though

For the first, and i'm sure the last time I'll ever agreed with this Corporate Redneck. Peep what he had to say about the term "African-American
The topic of race identification on the upcoming census was brought up on Glenn Beck's radio program this morning, and controversial statements ensued.

The whole issue apparently merited discussion because three of the available boxes to check in order to identify your race are "Black," "African-American" and "Negro."

Beck was quick to clarify:

African-American is a bogus, PC, made-up term. I mean, that's not a race. Your ancestry is from Africa and now you live in America. Ok, so you were brought over -- either your family was brought over through the slave trade or you were born here and your family emigrated here or whatever but that is not a race.

Think Progress notes that on an earlier program, Beck had admitted that he didn't have "a lot of African-American friends, and I think part of it is because I'm afraid that I would be in an open conversation, and I would say something that somebody would take wrong, and then it would be a nightmare."

Black People Can't Get Love Anywhere. Even In China

I thought with all the wings, beer, and stuff we buy from them we would be cool. I guess not

Born and raised in Shanghai by her Chinese single mother, Lou Jing, a half African-American half Chinese aspiring singer, experienced very little discrimination during childhood. However after she appeared on the Chinese reality television show called “Let’s Go! Oriental Angels,” Lou Jing gained national fame and notoriety — largely for her skin color.

After the contest started, I often got more attention than the other girls. It made me feel strange,” Lou said.

The reality show hosts fondly called her “chocolate girl” and “black pearl.” The Chinese media fixated on her skin color. Netizens flooded Web sites with comments saying she “never should have been born” and telling her to “get out of China.”

“We lived in a small circle before,” said her mother. “But after Lou was seen nationwide, some Chinese

Even well meaning friends and family members revealed widespread ignorance about Lou Jing’s racial difference:

“Sometimes people on the street would ask me, ‘Why do you speak Chinese so well?’ I’d just say, ‘Because I’m Chinese!’” Lou said.

“She used to wonder why she had black skin,” said one classmate. “We thought about this question together and decided to tell her it’s because she likes dark chocolate. So her skin turned darker gradually.”

Another classmate weighed in, “We said it’s because she used to drink too much soy sauce.”

Even Lou Jing’s maternal grandmother admitted in a taped interview, “I told Lou Jing she was black because her mom was not very well and had to take Chinese medicine.”

Here are some of the actual comments posted on websites about Lou Jing and her mother:

“Shanghai people’s value plunges. A bastard, brought her out to show off because of the foreigner descent.”

“Is this the legend of the bastard? And an unwanted bastard, Her mother is a shameless woman, pregnant by a black guy, and then abandoned, was it good when he was pleasing you? Still obsessed with him after several decades? Not feel ashamed, even go on TV to look, looking for what? Looking for lost big XX? Looking for climax never had again? Shameless! Why are Shanghai women always the target of criticism? It’s because of shameless bitch like her! Dragon TV please help this bastard find her family. Let the black father with a big XX hurry back, address this old woman’s needs! Black Dad, come back soon! Someone cannot forget your big XX.”

“This woman has no sense of shame, married and you cheat, give birth to a black kid so there is no way to hide, if wasn’t for that her husband will have to raise their children. Cheap is the word, in order to run with a foreigner, even do with black people.”

Have You Heard Of The Scott Sisters ? Probably Not. Life In Prison For $11 !

These to ladies have been in prison since 1994 for an armed robbery that netted $11. What is really going on with the justice system ? Peep the story below for the details.

Talk about injustice. How do you wind up in prison serving two life terms for a robbery that netted 11 dollars? That question has haunted first time offenders Gladys and Jamie Scott for the past 15 years.

On December 24, 1993, Scott County Sheriff's Department in Mississippi arrested the sisters for an armed robbery they vehemently deny participation in. In 1994 they were convicted after being implicated in the crime by three young Black men who confessed to the robbery in exchange of a plea bargain that gave them 10 months. The sisters were not offered a plea and went to trial.

Time has passed slowly for these sisters as they watched from behind bars their five children grow into adults and mourned the lost of their father. They have felt the pain of exhausting all their legal remedies while being denied relief at every level.

According to Nancy Lockhart, M.J., a legal analyst who has worked tirelessly over the years to help set free the Scott sisters she says she will never forget the frigid Chicago morning when she opened a letter from Mrs. Evelyn Rasco, the mother of the Scott sisters. She told the story of her daughters and her plight to help free them. "How can they give my daughters two life sentences for a crime that netted 11 dollars where no one was injured?" This prompted Lockhart to become the Scott sister's lifeline for hope. She began a campaign to try freeing them.

The Scott Sisters challenged their convictions on direct appeal arguing that there was insufficient evidence to convict them and the guilty verdict was against the overwhelming weight of evidence, which should have exonerate them. The court of appeals found no error and affirmed the convictions on December 17, 1996. As a result, they filed a Petition for Writ of Certiorari to the Supreme Court, which was denied on May 15, 1997. They consequently filed an Application for Leave to File Motion to Vacate Conviction pursuant to the Mississippi Post Conviction Collateral Relief Act. The Supreme Court also denied that application.

In 1998 one of the sentenced men signed an affidavit telling that the Scott sisters were not involved with the crime. The affidavit along with two others that pointed to the sister's innocence were secured by their attorney and submitted for post conviction relief. Then attorney Chokwe Lumumba submitted a request for commutation of sentence and/or pardon to the governor. It was subsequently denied.

Gladys and Jamie Scott have maintained their innocence. They have spent nearly 15 years in prison for a crime they did not commit that netted the sum of 11 dollars. It is time for them to join their families.

WTF. Black Guy Gets Thrown In Bon Fire At A Party.

If you see this redneck at a party, one you're at the wrong pary, but you need to do 1 of 2 things. Rush him and treat him like Rodney King, or roll out with the quickness. Peep the story below to see what he did.

EAST GREENBUSH, N.Y. - A Rensselaer County man is behind bars after allegedly tossing a teen into a fire early Friday morning in a fit of rage. It happened at an outdoor party in East Greenbush.

Police say it was 23-year-old Bruce Vroman who grabbed 18-year-old Derek George and threw him into the flames. Friends quickly pulled Derek out, but it wasn't fast enough.

18-year-old Derek George can barely speak through his pain. Second and third degree burns cover his leg, back, and half his face. "It hurts a lot," he says softly.

Derek was at a party around a bonfire when he says Bruce Vroman, a man he did not know, yelled a racial slur at him.

Derek's mother, Dorma George, explains, "Out of the blue they're like, 'you n***** you need to leave!' "

Derek says he tried to stay calm, telling Vroman, "I take that as disrespect. Just don't say it, please don't say it."

That's when Derek says Vroman rushed at him. Derek fought him to the ground, but does not remember being pushed into the fire. "That's all I remember is saying, 'somebody's gonna get hurt,' and waking up with my friends holding me, saying 'you're all burnt up.' "

His mother is calling it a hate crime.

"My son's face, my son's body is burnt. For what? Being black? It's ridiculous," says George.

George says all of her children have been repeatedly harassed by some in Vroman's circle of friends, and she says she's desperate for police intervention.

"It's like a ball of fire just ready to explode, and I'm trying to stop it before someone gets killed...I don't want my son to die like this," she says.

Police say their investigation is not over. Vroman is charged with first degree assault. He's being held in the Rensselaer County Correctional Facility without bail, and has a preliminary hearing set for Tuesday, October 13th.

Derek George is still undergoing outpatient treatment from Albany Medical Center.

It's 2009, And People Still Think Putting On Blackface Is OK

This Dallas Cowboy cheerleader thought it was ok to dress up as Lil Wayne. It's probably going to cost her her job. I guess she should have thought about it first. Even crazier is the reaction of people who see the pics. No one thinks it's a big deal. WTF ?! Peep the video below.......

http://cbs11tv.com/video/?id=48075@ktvt.dayport.com

Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader has brought some controversy to herself following the discovery of some Halloween photos on her Facebook page that some say are inappropriate.

The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders are the sweethearts of America's Team, yet the actions of one of the cheerleaders off the field have drawn scrutiny and criticism.

Second-year cheerleader Whitney Isleib reportedly attended a friend's Halloween party dressed as rapper Lil' Wayne, who is black.

Pictures of Isleib, who is white, were posted on her Facebook page. The photos were leaked to a sports blog, and that's where the controversy started.

Fans we spoke with at Sunday's Cowboys game against the Seahawks were mixed in their reactions.

"If she wasn't a Dallas cheerleader would it really matter? It's Halloween, you know. you get to go how you want to go" says fan Laura Pyhrr.

"I don't agree with it, but she wore Lil' Wayne and there she is. but I don't think it's the best costume" says Martisha Francis.

One thing most everyone agreed on was anyone representing 'America's Team' should exercise better judgment.

"I'm assuming you would hold yourself up to a higher standard - especially if you're playing for the Cowboys. But wow, not much I can say about that - it speaks for itself" says fan Richard Vasquez.

No one from the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders or the team would officially comment, but a team spokesman told us the team is aware of the situation and addressing it internally.

Isleib was also not available for comment following Sunday's game.

Racism Alive And Kicking In Chicago.

For those of you who though racism was over when President Obama was elected, you were sadly mistaken. Things like this are popping up all over the place. Peep the story below for what happened.

Students from Washington University say they have complained to state and federal agencies that a Chicago, Illinois, nightclub barred six African-American members from their senior class trip celebration while admitting nearly 200 white classmates.

Bar personnel cited dress code violations -- specifically baggy jeans -- when barring the African-American students, according to Washington University senior class president Fernando Cutz, who was among students admitted to the bar.

A white student and a black student exchanged jeans to see what would happen, and the white student was admitted while his classmate still was kept outside, Cutz said.

Cutz said his group from the St. Louis, Missouri, school filed complaints with the Chicago Human Rights Commission, the Illinois Attorney General, the U.S. Department of Justice and other organizations after the incident on October 17. The school planned to hold a town hall meeting Monday night to discuss the incident and a possible protest, he said.

Calls by CNN to the nightclub, Original Mother's bar, were not immediately returned.

But a representative of the bar told the Chicago Tribune on Thursday that security concerns, not racism, guided the decision. One day later, a bar representative told the paper the club was taking the issue "very seriously," conducting an internal investigation and that disciplinary action would be taken if necessary.

Cutz said the celebration at Original Mother's in Chicago's Gold Coast section was to have been the culminating event of a two-day senior class trip to Chicago. The party had been arranged with the bar in advance by the student class board, which includes two of the African-American students who were later denied entry, Cutz said.

Cutz said he was already inside the bar with some 200 other students, none of whom are African-American, when the first group of African-American classmates arrived. He said he learned that the manager of the bar denied entry to the six students, and he said the manager told the students their baggy pants violated the bar's dress code.

Cutz, who is white, said he confronted the manager.

Nevertheless, Cutz said, he told the students to "go back to the hotel and change." But the manager of the bar stepped in to say that he had made his decision and that the six men could not return to the bar even if they changed clothes, Cutz said.

The students became "more agitated" and "set up an experiment," Cutz said. Class treasurer Regis Murayi, who is black, exchanged jeans with a white student, Jordan Roberts, who -- being 3 inches shorter than Murayi -- looked "substantially baggy."

Roberts approached the same manager who had turned away the African-American students, paid the entry fee and was allowed in, Cutz said.
Washington University Chancellor Mark Wrighton sent a letter to Chicago Mayor Richard Daley to express his "most intense disappointment" about the incident. In the letter -- a copy of which was provided to CNN by Cutz -- Wrighton told the mayor that he "can only imagine the humiliation and discouragement these six young students felt ... when they were turned away from this establishment because of their race."

Students also contacted the Anti-Defamation League and the Chicago Urban League. The two organizations jointly sent a letter to the bar, writing that they "strongly suggest that Mother's re-examine its dress code, conduct immediate retraining of all employees to avoid any future racial discrimination or appearance thereof, and issue a formal letter of apology to the six students who were denied entry."

Does The Media Care When Black Woman Go Missing ?

I remember watching the "Today" show one Saturday morning. They did a 5 minute piece on a missing dog. Someone had stolen this couples poodle and they were heartbroken. Now I've had dogs all my life, but a 5 minute piece on a missing dog ?! I was furious. Especially since I knew of two missing black teens from emails that had been sent to me that got NO media coverage. Does the media care ? If it doesn't sell papers or get ratings. I think the answer is no. Peep the story below.

Ten women have been found slain or have been declared missing in Rocky Mount, N.C., in recent years. But the rest of the country hasn't heard about a possible serial killer stalking the young women in this Southern town of 60,000. The latest victim, Elizabeth Jane Smallwood, was identified on Oct. 12. Why have the Rocky Mount homicides been largely ignored?

"When you think about the famous missing-person cases over the last few years it's Chandra Levy, Natalee Holloway, and Laci Peterson," notes Sam Sommers, associate professor of psychology at Tufts University. All these women had a few things in common—they were white, educated, and came from middle-class families. The victims in Rocky Mount—which residents describe as a "typical Southern town," and is about 40 percent white and more than 50 percent black—were different. They were all African-American, many were poor, and some had criminal histories including drug abuse and prostitution.

If it was someone of a different race, things would have been dealt with the first time around; it wouldn't have taken the fifth or sixth person to be murdered," says Andre Knight, a city-council member and president of the local NAACP chapter. "All these women knew each other and lived in the same neighborhood; this is the sign of a potential serial killer. When it didn't get the kind of attention it needed, it made the African-American community frustrated."

Police have not officially linked all the murders and disappearances, but community members claim the similarities among the women, their lifestyles, and the location of their bodies make a connection all too obvious. "If you find two bodies in the same location, this could be the work of the same person or people," says Rocky Mount Police Chief John Manley, who would not comment on a connection, but implied the possibility.

Rumors are running rampant around the town about the identity of the serial killer. There is not much physical evidence, leading some to speculate it's a former law-enforcement officer or someone in the military. Others have deduced that the killer is targeting specific women as a form of revenge for contracting HIV from a prostitute. Along with Smallwood, the murders of Taraha Nicholson, 28, Jarniece Hargrove, 31, Ernestine Battle, 50, Jackie Nikelia Thorpe, 35, Melody Wiggins, 29, and Denise Williams, 21, remain unsolved. Authorities are also searching for Yolanda Lancaster, 37, Joyce Renee Durham, 46, and Christine Boone, 43.
