What Is Going On In Chicago? Do We Need To Put Bars Around The City

A Chicago man kills his wife, kills ex-girlfriend and shoots his father. He must have been of of the "Ohh Wee". This young lady was the ex-girlfriend that was killed.

A gunman accused of a weekend killing spree on Chicago’s South Side and in the suburbs that left two dead and a third fighting for his life was enraged because he believed his father was having an affair with his wife, Cook County prosecutors said today.James Amison, 37, is charged with murder in the killing of his ex-girlfriend, Stephanie Reed, 40, and attempted murder in an attack on his 59-year-old father.

He is also suspected in the killing of his wife, Tashika Smith, 38, during a four-hour killing spree that authorities believe began around 10 p.m. Friday, prosecutors said in court today. At a brief hearing, Cook County Circuit Judge James Brown ordered Amison held without bail.

At the hearing, Assistant Cook County State’s Attorney Joe Lattanzio said Amison arrived at his father home in the 1600 block of S. 19th Ave in Maywood at 12:20 a.m. on Saturday and shot his father in the neck.Witnesses and Amison told police that he was angry because “he believed that his father had been having an affair with his wife,”

Lattanzio said.Amison then drove to Reed’s home in the 5300 block of S. Marshfield Avenue in Chicago, where he shot and killed Reed just an hour later, Latanzio said.Amison has confessed to the killing, Lattanzio said, and a bullet recovered from Reed’s body matched a gun recovered from Amison when he was arrested 40 minutes later at a South Side strip club.

Amison threatened employees and patrons at The Factory," 12054 S. Doty Ave., before stealing money from an employee, firing his gun, and being shot in the leg by a "concerned citizen,"

Lattanzio said.Amison is in good condition at Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn but was not healthy enough to be in court, Lattanzio said.Speaking after the hearing via phone, Steger Police Chief Richard Stultz said he expects

Will County prosecutors to charge Amison later Monday or early Tuesday with Smith's murder.“Based on the timing of the other cases in Maywood and Chicago, we believe he killed her around 10 p.m.,”

Stultz said.Amison picked up a car from a female friend in Homewood after killing Smith, using it to drive to his father’s home, Stultz said. It’s unclear why Amison believed his father was having an affair with Smith, Stultz said.
