A Florida man was arrested last week for calling 911 repeatedly, seeking a police escort to the residence of rapper Lil Wayne.
Michael Kruse, 20, charged with making false emergency calls by the St. John’s County Sheriff’s Office.

According to thesmokinggun.com, Kruse called 911 on his cell phone, from his Ford Taurus repeatedly, asking for a picture escort-by-helicopter-to take him to Miami so he could meet with Lil’ Wayne.

An arriving officer probed Kruse, who admitted to calling 911 the previous day as well.
In that incident, Kruse told 911 operators that he might need medical attention because he was under the influence of an unknown substance. When the arriving officer attempted to help, Kruse refused medical attention.

The United States’ 911 system launched in 1968 and handles over 240 million calls annually, with 99% of the country covered with the service.

Officials are looking to crack down on abuse of the 911 system. In some cities, up to 80% of the calls placed to 911 are non-emergency.

In March, a woman was arrested for calling 911 three times, to complain that McDonalds was out of Chicken McNuggets, after she had paid for a ten piece meal.

Last year, a San Francisco man was charged with calling 911 more than 27,000 times.
Bother were charged with misuse of 911 charge and fined as well.

DELTONA, Fla. -- A couple of accused burglars decided to ask a Volusia County Sheriff's deputy for a ride home at 4 a.m. Monday, according to the sheriff's office.
Deputy Austin Littleton said he was suspicious when he saw the duo walking along East Fairbairn Drive, so he stopped to investigate. Littleton said the accused crooks told him they had gotten lost after leaving a friend's house, but couldn't pinpoint the house they'd came from

While trying to convince the deputy to give them a lift, one of the accused burglars did a dance for the deputy, claiming he was a up-and-coming rapper, according to a news release. While cutting a rug, the accused burglar revealed some stolen items he had shoved down his pants, the deputy said.
Littleton agreed to give the men a ride only after a quick search. The search revealed GPS units, cell phones, jewelry and a package of strawberry Pop Tarts. The men -- Eshon Hardy, 18, and Theordore Walker III, 20 -- were immediately detained and Littleton called for backup to investigate the area for signs of burglary.
According to a news release, deputies quickly discovered that nine vehicles had been broken into at six different locations along West Gaucho Circle and East Fairbairn Drive.
Deputies said that some of the cars had been ransacked but nothing was stolen, one victim said only her cell phone and charger were taken and only some change and Pop Tarts were stolen out of another car. All the cars were left unlocked overnight.
Hardy and Walker are charged with one count each of burglary. They were booked into the Volusia County Branch Jail in Daytona Beach on $1,500 bond each.

I know Drake has a lot of attention coming his way, and Lil Wayne is the hottest thing out, but who made the decision to let these guys rap the full explicit version of their song ? There were children, old people, and people who i knew didn't want to hear that. Lil Wayne can rap it if he wants, but it's up BET to make them perform the edited version. Not a good look BET.

An autopsy on entertainer Michael Jackson has been scheduled for Friday and results are expected by afternoon, according to the Los Angeles, California, coroner's office.

Autopsy results due out Friday may shed light into the death of pop star Michael Jackson.


The "King of Pop," who was preparing for a comeback tour, died Thursday at age 50.
Jackson, under apparent cardiac arrest, was taken from his home by paramedics to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, where a team of physicians tried to resuscitate him for more than an hour, said Jackson's brother Jermaine. He said the music idol was pronounced dead at 2:26 p.m. (5:26 p.m. ET).

Another one of Jackson's eight siblings told CNN that he learned of Jackson's death through his manager, Frank Dileo.

"Frank told me that Michael last night was complaining about not feeling well. He called to tell him he wasn't feeling well," Marlon Jackson said. "Michael's doctor went over to see him, and Frank said, 'Marlon, from last night to this morning, I don't know what happened.' When they got to him this morning, he wasn't breathing."

At the hospital, security guards blocked every entrance to the emergency room. Even hospital staffers were not permitted to enter. A few people stood inside the waiting area, some of them crying.

Berry Gordy, producer and founder of Motown Records, said Jackson's death was "like a bad dream."

"As a kid, Michael was always beyond his years. He was an innovator. He was a genius at what he did," Gordy said. "He had a knowingness about him. At 9 years old, when I first started working with him, he seemed to me like he had been here before. He was just so knowledgeable about life."

Lisa Marie Presley, Jackson's former wife, said she was "shocked and saddened" by his death.
"My heart goes out to his children and his family," she said.
Jackson is survived by his three children, Prince Michael I, Paris and Prince Michael II.

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) - A Connecticut church has outraged gay rights advocates by posting a video of members performing an apparent exorcism of a teens "homosexual demons."

The 20-minute video was posted on YouTube before it was taken down.

Gay youth advocate Robin McHaelen (mih-KAY'-lehn) says the video appears to show abuse. She says she plans to report it to the Connecticut Department of Children and Families.

The boy confirms he is 16 but otherwise has declined to comment.

The Rev. Patricia McKinney of Manifested Glory Ministries in Bridgeport says he is 18 and came to the church on his own seeking help.

She denies the church is prejudiced and says it took care of the youth.

Baptist Minister (and former second vice president of the Souther Baptist Convention) Wiley Drake reportedly said that he is offering an “imprecatory prayer” for the death of President Obama.
Drake reportedly said on June 2 on “The Alan Colmes Show” that, unless Obama repents, he is praying for God to kill him — referencing the killing of Dr. George Tiller as an example of such divine retribution. Drake has his own program, “The Wiley Drake Show” on Crusade Radio, where he has been holding forth on Tiller’s murder. With Colmes, Drake said “I’ve been a Baptist pastor for a long time, been in the pro-life fight, been face-to-face with Tiller, told him about Jesus, and I’ve seen many, many others tell him about Jesus over and over and over again. And I’ve seen horrific things that go on in those death abortuaries — and that’s what they are — and so my initial response to those people, they said, ‘Well what was your response,’ and I said, ‘Well, in all honesty I have to just respond directly and say I am glad that he’s dead.’”

Drake repeated the view that Obama (who he refers to as “B. Hussein Obama”) is not an American-born citizen and called him a “usurper.” Drake was praised in extremist websites after he filed to block Obama from taking the oath of office. He also said that Rev. Rick Warren would be punished by God for offering a prayer at the inauguration.
An “imprecatory prayer” is usually a reference to Psalm 35 where David calls upon the Lord to kill his enemies. There are a variety of imprecatory psalms containing curses or prayers for the punishment and death for one’s enemies. Psalms 7, 35, 55, 58, 59, 69, 79, 109, 137 and 139.
Drake is a big believer in death-dealing prayers . . . and he is not afraid to use them. Previously, he called for the use of imprecatory prayers against a religious watchdog group. He was upset over an IRS investigation. On August 14th he wrote:

In light of the recent attack from the enemies of God I ask the children of God to go into action with Imprecatory Prayer. Especially against Americans United for Separation of Church and State. I made an attempt to go to them via Matt 18:15 but they refused to talk to me. Specifically target Joe Conn or Jeremy Learing. They are those who lead the attack. During his interview with Colmes, he was asked directly about his death-dealing prayer for the president:

“Are you praying for his death?” Colmes asked.
“Yes,” Drake replied.
“So you’re praying for the death of the president of the United States?”
“Yes.”
Colmes then asks him if he is worried that the Secret Service might come knocking and Drake insists that this is his right. That is the only thing upon which I agree with Drake. As I discussed on this segment of Rachel Maddow Show, such violent speech (and prayers) are protected under the Constitution. You are allowed to make hateful prayers for the death of a president.

Gov. Mark Sanford admitted Wednesday he's been having an affair with a woman he visited on a secret trip to Argentina and said he'll resign as head of the Republican Governors Association.
Sanford, a rumored 2012 presidential candidate, refused to say whether he'll leave office.
"I've let down a lot of people, that's the bottom line," Sanford said at a news conference. He said he's known the woman about eight years, but their relationship turned into something more a year ago while he was on an economic development trip to Argentina.
Sanford, a 49-year-old father of four, choked up during remarks to reporters. He said his wife has known about the affair for the last five months.
Sanford revealed Wednesday morning that he'd gone to Argentina for a seven-day trip. For two days after reporters starting asking questions, his office had said he had gone hiking on the Appalachian Trial.
Meanwhile, first lady Jenny Sanford had told The Associated Press she did not know where her husband went for the Father's Day weekend.
First elected governor in 2002, the former real estate developer has more than year remaining in his second term and is barred by state law from running again.
A former three-term congressman, Sanford most recently snared headlines for his unsuccessful fight to turn aside federal stimulus cash for his state's schools. His vocal battle against the Obama administration - and libertarian, small-government leanings - won praise from conservative pundits. Ultimately, a state court order required him to take the money.

Sanford's announcement came a day after another prominent Republican, Sen. John Ensign of Nevada, apologized to his GOP Senate colleagues after revealing last week that he had an affair with a campaign staffer and was resigning from the GOP leadership.

Producer Scott Storch has signed on to star in a new reality show that will chronicle his return to the music business.

The producer, who has earned an estimated $70 million through his production, fell on hard times earlier this year, when he missed payments on his $10 million Miami mansion, cars and child support payments.

In addition to owing the IRS almost $1 million dollars in back taxes, Storch became a wanted man, when he missed back child support payments to the tune of $46,000.

According to reports, Storch blew over $25 million during a three-year period, during which he was allegedly addicted to cocaine.

Storch’s untitled show will be produced by Bunim/Murray Productions.

Bunim Murray has produced hit series like MTV’s The Real World, Road Rules, Project Runway, Keeping Up With The Kardashians and others.

“This is a monumental moment to see a producer of his caliber let the cameras into his world and see how hit records are made,” Weintraub said. “A lot of people have tried to get Scott to open up the curtain to this process but have never been successful.”

Storch’s show will take place in Miami, Florida, according to Weintraub.

Chris Brown got off pretty good with his last minute plea deal to avoid jail time.

Lawyers representing R&B singer Chris Brown announced a last-minute plea deal yesterday, forestalling the expected testimony of his former girlfriend, pop star Rihanna. Brown pleaded guilty to one count of felony assault, avoiding a prison sentence. Instead, Brown will serve up to five years of supervised probation and six months of community labour.
Brown stated his plea in a Los Angeles court, with Rihanna also present in the room. Judge Patricia M Schnegg imposed a stay-away order on the pair so that they remain at least 50 yards from each other. That distance is reduced to just 10 yards at industry events, but Schnegg warned Rihanna that she would be in violation of the order if she approached her former assailant.
Police were called to the scene of a domestic quarrel in the early hours of 8 February, where Rihanna – then in a relationship with Brown – was found with injuries to her face. According to a police affidavit, the row began when Rihanna found a text message from another woman on Brown's mobile phone. He later tried to push her from the parked car, choking her, punching her repeatedly and allegedly biting her ear. When Rihanna pretended to phone her assistant for police help, Brown threatened to kill her.
After the hearing, Rihanna's lawyer confirmed that she had not requested the court's stay-away order. Though the singer had previously been granted an order of protection against Brown, the couple briefly reunited in March. Under these new terms, however, Rihanna and Brown would not be allowed even a cordial, long-distance relationship. Besides the restrictions on their physical proximity, the pair are not allowed to contact each other.
In May, Brown made his first direct public comments, thanking his fans and dismissing his detractors. "Everybody that's haters, they just been haters," he said in a video. "I ain't a monster."
Brown's formal sentencing will take place 5 August

Beginning just after 3 am, Hilton, who was in Toronto to present at Sunday night’s MuchMusic Awards, started tweeting about the alleged attack:
• PerezHilton: I'm in shock. I need the police ASAP. Please come to the SoHo Metropolitan Hotel now. Please.
• PerezHilton: I was assaulted by Will.I.Am of the Black Eyed Peas and his security guards. I am bleeding. Please, I need to file a police report. No joke.
• PerezHilton: Still waiting for the police. The bleeding has stopped. I need to document this. Please, can the police come to the SoHo Met Hotel.
A few hours later, Will.I.am created his own Twitter account and responded to the accusations made by Hilton.
"i just made a twitter account because it isnt cool for someone to blame you and blast you with lies..." the BEP frontman wrote.
Later Will.i.am posted a link to a response video he had put online in which he denies hitting Perez.
“I was the one that came to him with respect, and he was the one who called me a f***** outside the club," Will.I.am said in the video.
The singer/rapper also blasted Hilton for using Twitter to seek help.

Brown, who did nine months for a parole violation after she punched and kicked two nail-salon manicurists in 2006, wore Gucci sneakers and a Fendi scarf -- and when they got dirty, new ones were brought to her.
The diva's jailers also set up an interview and photo shoot with a magazine, which ran a feature on the raunchy rapper that helped hype her new album.
So say outraged Department of Correction insiders, who told The Post that Brown's coddling was yet another example of an unruly agency flouting its own regulations and security for the privileged few.
"It's just out of control," one official said.
Said another, "There's a total lack of leadership at the top."
Correction chief Peter Curcio and the prison's top rabbi, Leib Glanz, resigned last week after The Post exposed a lavish bar mitzvah that Glanz arranged for an inmate's son at a lower-Manhattan lockup, along with other perks showered on select prisoners.
The city Department of Investigation and the Manhattan District Attorney's Office are probing Glanz and his boss, Imam Umar Abdul-Jalil, in the matter.
Abdul-Jalil played a key role in Brown's star treatment, the sources said, going to bat for the hip-hop hottie when she wanted something special.
"Umar would call the warden, and the warden at the time would comply," one insider said.
Two other ministers who report to Abdul-Jalil -- the Rev. Kevin Green and Imam Aisha Muhammad -- helped arrange Brown's good-time treatment, despite the rapper's bad behavior as an inmate at Rikers' Rose M. Singer Center, the insiders said. Brown is Christian.
"They were in her cell day and night," one department supervisor said. "Whatever she wanted, Sister Aisha would talk to warden [Michelle] Mack and get it."

Thomas Parkin tells the New York Post in a jailhouse interview that he wasn’t the person captured on security cameras dressed in a wig and his mom’s clothing.
The newspaper says that during the 40-minute interview at Riker’s Island, the 49-year-old also claimed his mother was once a B-movie star who dated Gene Kelly, and offered a rambling discourse on the psyche of Norman Bates, the cross-dressing killer in Alfred Hitchcock’s “Psycho.”
Parkin and an alleged accomplice are awaiting trial on larceny and fraud charges. Parkin was charged Wednesday.

Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day or Emancipation Day, commemorates the announcement of the abolition of slavery in the U.S. State of Texas in 1865. Celebrated on June 19, the term is a portmanteau of June and nineteenth, and is recognized as a state holiday in 31 of the United States.

Though the Emancipation Proclamation had been issued on September 22, 1862, with an effective date of January 1, 1863, it had minimal immediate effect on most slaves’ day-to-day lives, particularly in Texas, which was almost entirely under Confederate control. Texas was resistant to the Emancipation Proclamation, and though slavery was very prevalent in East Texas, it was not as common in the Western areas of Texas, particularly the Hill Country, where most German-Americans were opposed to the practice. Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, the day Union General Gordon Granger and 2,000 federal troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, to take possession of the state and enforce the emancipation of its slaves. DETROIT — Hours after police plucked him out of a suburban alley, Vincent Smothers dropped a bombshell confession: "I don't have a profession," he told an investigator. "I kill people for money."
Then, police say, he laid out details of how each of eight hired hits happened. He stalked his victims before shooting them at close range. He killed some while talking on his cell phone and fired on others even when they appeared to lay lifeless on the ground.
Even in Detroit, which had more than 300 slayings last year, Smothers' case is notable: Rarely is one person charged in so many deaths. On Friday, his lawyers planned to ask a judge to have the confessions thrown out, arguing he was worn down while in custody. Police deny it.
"He'd been accused of doing so many, he just wanted to get it over (with)," said Detective Sgt. Ken Ducker of the Michigan State Police.
Police say the work paid $60,000 over two years, although Smothers did one job for as little as $50. All but one of his victims were involved in drugs. The exception was a police officer's wife.
At 6-foot-1 and less than 150 pounds, Smothers said he didn't raise suspicion, according to a police account of the confession. He was able to walk up to two Chicago men in town for a drug deal in May 2007 and ask if one if they needed help with their car, which was parked with the trunk open near an interstate.
"He said, 'Naw, young fellow.' ... Once he turned where he couldn't see me, I pulled the pistol out and shot him in the head," Smothers told police.
He said he fired through the windshield and the passenger window while the other man tried to honk the horn to attract attention. Smothers changed weapons without hanging up the phone with the man who hired him. The pay: $15,000.
His last alleged slaying-for-hire was Rose Cobb, the 47-year-old wife of a Detroit officer, on the day after Christmas 2007, according to the confession. She was sitting in her van outside a pharmacy when Smothers, wearing a ski mask, broke a window with a tire iron and shot her in the head.
"My stomach was in knots," he told police. "I felt like she was innocent. ... All the rest were dope dealers."
Smothers said Cobb's husband, David Cobb, arranged the killing while having an affair. The sergeant was never charged but hanged himself in September.
The confessions were evidence at a series of hearings over the past year where judges found probable cause to put Smothers on trial. Police also have tapes of the interviews.
Defense lawyer Gabi Silver doesn't dispute the words but claims Smothers, 28, was coerced with promises that his wife would not be charged with helping him.
"The interrogation was extremely long and unfair. ... The confessions were the product of duress," Silver said in a recent filing in Wayne County Circuit Court, where Smothers faces six trials.
He spent nearly four hours in April 2008 confessing to Cobb's death, then went on to talk about the other killings, chief investigator Ira Todd said. Smothers seemed remorseful, he said.
"I knew at the time these crimes were committed they were wrong and that there would be a price to pay," he wrote. "After Cobb's wife, I could no longer have anything to do with murdering people.
"I can't bring them back," Smothers wrote, "but I hope this allow their families to know that someone is going to pay behind what happened to their loved ones."

David Archuleta's dad made plenty of headlines when his son was chasing the "American Idol" crown last year, mostly for what some described as his stage-dad tendencies. Now, Jeff Archuleta is in the news again, only it has nothing to do with his son's career

According to the Salt Lake Tribune, Archuleta, 47, pleaded no contest in January to patronizing a prostitute and paid a $582 fine after a January 14 bust at the Queens of Reiki massage parlor in Midvale, Utah. Sgt. John Salazar told the paper that police had been investigating the business for several days after patients at a nearby doctor's office complained that the masseuses at the parlor were arriving at the building in skimpy outfits.After the raid, the parlor was cited for operating without a license and Archuleta was given a citation for solicitation of prostitution. "Two of our detectives went back to that room to stop the activity," Salazar said. "Inside, they found a female masseuse and male client. At that time an interview ensued and the male client admitted to receiving sexual gratification from the masseuse." The client was Archuleta and the unnamed masseuse who allegedly gratified him was also cited.Court records indicate that Archuleta took a no contest plea on January 30 to the class B misdemeanor of patronizing a prostitute and paid the fine, agreeing to complete a counseling class. The case will be dismissed when he appears in court on June 30 for a review as long as he does not repeat the crime.Speaking to ABC4 News, Jeff Archuleta's lawyer, Eric Bauer, confirmed that his client had been a customer at the parlor when police raided it, but said he went there to receive legitimate therapy for his back. Bauer said his client did not participate in any sexual activity but was advised to plea no contest to avoid negative publicity for David Archuleta, who was then embarking on a tour in support of his recently released debut album.

Fitchburg police said a man has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting Tuesday night after calling 911 and claiming to be the shooter.Police said Perry Lucas, 28, of Fitchburg, is tentatively charged with first-degree intentional homicide.
The shooting occurred at an apartment building in the 3300 block of Leopold Way, just before midnight, police said.Police said a disturbance took place inside the apartment building, and Lucas, a resident there, pulled out a gun and shot two men multiple times in the building’s hallway.One of the victims, Detarius Martin, 23, of Madison, was pronounced dead at a hospital.
The Dane County Coroner’s Office said preliminary autopsy findings indicate that Martin died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds.His brother, a 27-year-old, is hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.Police said even though the person who they believe pulled the trigger is in custody, the incident is still concerning.
“You have three people who basically meet for the first time last evening and some sort of altercation breaks out and shots get fired, and one of the three people is dead. That’s a concern. It’s a tragedy, quiet honestly,” said Lt. Chad Brecklin, of the Fitchburg Police Department.
An exact motive is still not known, but police said they do not believe drugs or gang involvement played a role in the shooting. The Fitchburg Police Department said that officers do respond to that particular area for disturbance calls regularly, but they do not consider it a troubled area.

I have a story that I believe you guys should cover. In my Home Town of Madison Wisconsin a friend of mine was murdered. He happened to be an African American man. He was at his brothers house when him and his brother heard noises of the man upstairs from them beating his girl friend (they happened to be white).
They decided to go upstairs and intervene because they thought they were helping. Instead they got into an altercation with the white man and he shot and Killed my friend Tari Martin, and shot and injured his brother. I honestly believe if the tables were turned and the man that was killed was white and it was black man beating a white women, this would have made national headlines.

My entire life I have been hearing how the white man and the government is the reason so many of us were poor,
uneducated, and unemployed. Now, don’t get me wrong I do understand that the holocaust of slavery, the unjust justice
system of Jim Crow and the civil rights disparities has crippled Black Americans in many ways. But, can we still say that
today?
We must take accountability for our actions as well. Today we have a Black man as President but he is a President not
the Savior of Black America. We have more Black millionaires than any other time in the history of this country, yet our
schools are worst than they were before integration. Our unemployment rate is higher than ever before. Our kids are
killing each other like they were living in the Old West. And we own almost none of the businesses in our communities.
Is this what Dr. King gave his life for? Is this what Thurgood Marshall fought for?
Why is this all happening now? Lack of ACCOUNTABILITY in our RACE. We blindly support singers, actors, rappers,
and athletes to the point that we make them gods. We spend our last dime supporting them but do they support us?
How hard would it be for ten or twenty of them to come together and buy properties in cities and towns and open up
businesses and trade schools? Where are the Dick Gregory’s, Muhammad Ali’s, Bill Russell’s, and Jim Brown’s of this
generation?
I know some of you will say Warren these folks don’t owe us a thing. Why do we keep asking for hand outs? To you I
say a great majority of these stars voted for our current President¾and his message is clear that we have a duty to the
greater good of all then a small few. What I am proposing isn’t a handout at all. I am not asking for fish I am asking to
teach us how to fish.
If a group did this it would allow people the chance to save their homes. Help keep our children off of drugs and out of
the crime black hole that a majority of them seem to be in. It would help destroy the process that most of our kids and
(many parents) seem to think that the only way to be successful is to be a rapper or ball player. It would help fund the
education of these children to the point that the schools would truly be equal not just integrated.
ACCOUNTABILITY.. We must change this stupid no snitch rule in our communities. We must call the cops on our kids

Sen Diane Black’s (R-Gallatin) legislative aid circulates racist email.

Newscoma posted details of a racist email sent from Sherri Goforth, legislative aid for Sen. Diane Black (R-Gallatin). The email depicts the Presidents of the United States with President Barack Obama as a pair of eyes in a black background.
I spoke with Sherri Goforth minutes ago to confirm she sent this email. She confirmed she had sent it and also said she had received a letter of reprimand from her superiors but said she will stay on the job.
When I asked her if she understood the controversial nature of the photo, Goforth would only say she felt very bad about accidentally sending it to the wrong list. When I gave her a second chance to address the controversial nature of the email, she again repeated that she only felt bad about sending it to the wrong list of people.
“I went on the wrong email and I inadvertently hit the wrong button,” Goforth told NIT. “I’m very sick about it, and it’s one of those things I can’t change or take back.”

Scotland Yard investigators may be interested in speaking to Lindsay Lohan about $411,000 in missing jewelry that Elle U.K. claims disappeared after they were loaned to the actress for a
photo shoot on June 6.According to reports, Dior lent Lohan, 22, a diamond necklace and matching earrings, which she modeled for a photo shoot for the magazine, and the items were reported missing two days later.Speaking to People magazine, a rep for Lohan said, "We inquired and everyone from the shoot is being questioned ... hair, make-up, stylist ... even photographers. Lindsay hopes they find the jewels. Donte Stalworth, 30 Days, Michael Vick 2 Years ?!

MIAMI (AP) - Cleveland Browns wide receiver Donte' Stallworth took full responsibility for killing a pedestrian while driving drunk in Florida and began serving a 30-day jail sentence Tuesday after he pleaded guilty to DUI manslaughter.
Stallworth also reached a confidential financial settlement to avoid a potential lawsuit from the family of 59-year-old Mario Reyes, according to Stallworth attorney Christopher Lyons. Reyes was struck and killed March 14 by Stallworth, who was driving his black 2005 Bentley after a night drinking at a swanky hotel bar.
Stallworth, 28, told Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Dennis Murphy that he hopes to get involved in drunken driving education programs.
"I accept full responsibility for this horrible tragedy," said Stallworth, who was accompanied at the hearing by his parents, siblings and other supporters. "I will bear this burden for the rest of my life."
Stallworth faced 15 years in prison. After his release from jail, Stallworth must serve two years of house arrest and spend eight years on probation.
The NFL has said it will review the matter for possible disciplinary action. Lyons said the plea agreement will allow Stallworth to resume his football career.
Stallworth also must undergo drug and alcohol testing, will have a lifetime driver's license suspension and must perform 1,000 hours of community service. Lyons said after five years, Stallworth could win approval for limited driving such as for employment.

Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle cited Stallworth's lack of previous criminal record, cooperation with police and willingness to accept responsibility as factors in the plea deal. Rundle also said the Reyes family — particularly the victim's 15-year-old daughter — wanted the case resolved to avoid any more pain.
"For all of these reasons, a just resolution of this case has been reached," Rundle said.
None of the Reyes family attended the hearing. Their attorney, Rodolfo Suarez, read a statement saying the family wants to "bring closure to this emotional and tragic event." Suarez was not immediately available to comment after the hearing.
After a night drinking at a bar in Miami Beach's Fountainebleau hotel, police said Stallworth hit Reyes, a construction crane operator who was rushing to catch a bus after finishing his shift around 7:15 a.m. Stallworth told police he flashed his lights in an attempt to warn Reyes, who was not in a crosswalk when he was struck.
Stallworth had a blood-alcohol level of .126 after the crash, well above Florida's .08 limit. Stallworth stopped after the crash and immediately told officers he had hit Reyes. Police estimated Stallworth was driving about 50 mph in a 40 mph zone.
Stallworth signed a seven-year, $35 million contract with the Browns before last season but was injured much of the year. The California native and University of Tennessee college star has also played in the NFL for New England, Philadelphia and New Orleans.
The night before the crash, Stallworth earned a $4.5 million roster bonus from the Browns.
David Cornwell, a Stallworth attorney handling the NFL situation, said he has kept top league officials apprised of the case.
